We are excited to announce the addition of another new employee to join the Kanata North Business Association Team in the role of Digital Media and Community Coordinator. Alycia Douglass will be working with Marketing and Events Lead, Deborah Lovegrove on digital media and community events.  She will undertake various initiatives including updates to our member business directory, database and CRM platform, as well as support for Community Hub activities and local business events.

Alycia will assist with developing digital content for the Kanata North Business Association’s social media networks, build community engagement, write blog posts, communications and promotional material. Ensuring consistent brand messaging and creative assets across all marketing touchpoints. She will be responsible for the creation of content calendars, project schedules, email campaigns, and post event surveys and reports, in addition to promotional content for The Kanata Networker magazine. In this role she will have the opportunity to identify emerging trends and opportunities, explore and evaluate new media outlets, and research new digital marketing trends in the marketplace.

Alycia brings a fresh perspective to the KNBA, offering a keen eye for personal brand and a deep-seated devotion to digital storytelling. Hailing from Cornwall, Ontario, Alycia began her career with Code Heroes; a small start-up with a focus on providing digital skills to underrepresented groups. Having later contributed to both Cornwall Living Magazine and the eagerly anticipated Perch Magazine, she was also instrumental in pitching Cornwall’s TASTE of the Region Magazine.

Fueled by compassion, curiosity and caffeine, Alycia takes great pride in her ability to add a human element to social media strategy, finding the unique voice of each company she works with.  When she’s not busy writing, Alycia can be found watching music documentaries on Netflix, busting a big, Bonham drum solo in her basement or hanging out with her cats, Grace and Joni.

We welcome you to connect with Alycia in the Kanata North Youth Business Networks on Facebook and LinkedIn,  she along with a couple of other admins from our business community, will use these networks to share networking events, hackathons, and other fun activities for Gen Y employees in the tech industry. These groups were created as a platform for students and young professionals to socialize, connect, make friends and plan events in the Kanata North Business Community.  If you are a millennial or young professional working in the tech park please connect with Alycia Douglass, as well as Tamimi Ahmad from Qlik, in the groups and invite others you know working in the area to join.
